During the recent Greene County Commissioners meeting, representatives from Purdue Extension shared a wealth of information about ongoing and upcoming programs aimed at enhancing agricultural education and community wellness in Greene County.
Sean Huss, the Ag and Natural Resources Educator, highlighted several successful initiatives from the past year, including a sustainable meat rabbit production program and a soil health workshop, which collectively attracted a diverse group of participants. Notably, a medicinal plants program drew 48 attendees, showcasing a growing interest in local agriculture and sustainable practices. Huss emphasized the importance of partnerships with local organizations, such as the Indiana conservation partnership, to bolster these educational efforts.
