The survey aimed to enhance employee support regarding insurance decisions, potentially leading to cost savings for the district. The analysis of the survey will be funded by SWUSH, and eligible employees will have the opportunity to consult with enrollment management services.
The board also explored the introduction of an after-school study hall for middle school students, responding to community requests for additional support for families lacking transportation. A survey will be distributed to gauge interest in this program, which will be supervised at no cost to families.
Significant staff changes were highlighted, including the transition of Chief Academic Officer Paul Daniels to a superintendent role in New Richmond. Misty Getz, the current junior high principal, will take over as the new director of teaching and learning, supported by Kelly Ellison as the coordinator of early learning. Todd Wells will move from assistant principal at the junior high to principal of the new Milford Middle School, with Lauren Iger stepping in as assistant principal.
The board also approved updates to job descriptions across the district and acknowledged several staff retirements, including long-serving members with decades of service.
In closing, the board expressed gratitude for the dedication of outgoing staff and welcomed the new leadership team, emphasizing their commitment to supporting the Milford community and enhancing educational experiences for students. The meeting concluded with a vote to approve the consent agenda, marking a productive session focused on the district's future.
