Engineer: Oak Ridge Street paving work falls outside contract; authority should cover milling and overlay

Borough Engineer Ty Leinneweber told council that paving restoration on Summit and Laurel Avenues falls within the existing Alan Myers contract but that approximately 184 feet of work on Oak Ridge Street is outside the contract scope. He recommended the Mount Penn Borough Municipal Authority be responsible for milling and placing a 1.5-inch overlay on Oak Ridge Street to comply with borough street ordinance and to bear the associated cost.

Leinneweber also reported that the authority's work extended into Cameron Street beyond the anticipated scope, which could affect the warranty on that newly constructed road. He noted that per a prior agreement the authority had already agreed to cover additional costs related to the project delay, including a change order of $22,000. A meeting was scheduled for the following week to finalize these matters; no formal council action was required at this meeting.
