District outlines facilities projects; principal asks for fenced elementary playground

The Facilities & Transportation Committee and district administration conducted a walkthrough and reported ongoing concrete replacement at the Elementary Center and multiple planned summer maintenance projects. Elementary Principal Carrie Graff asked that the School Safety Grant funds originally intended for boulders or vehicle barriers be used to install a traditional fence to both prevent vehicle access and create a secure play area for younger students and those with special needs.

The committee also noted longer-term capital needs including parking-lot resurfacing within five years and potential replacement of the boiler system. Maintenance Director Brian Smitsky requested consideration for equipment investments, including a tri-axle truck, pole barn roof replacement and adding another bay to the pole barn.
