Planning commission reviews Town Plan updates to align with state requirements

The Andover Planning Commission met in special session on April 7, 2026, to review progress on updating the Town Plan and to consider a set of suggested changes intended to bring the plan into compliance with current State requirements. Chair Joseph Fromberger called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m.

Martha Harrison of MARC-RPC reviewed a list of proposed edits that would update statistical material, clarify language throughout the document and expand the housing section. The commission recorded the objective: ensure the Town Plan meets the "current State requirements," as noted in the meeting record. Members were asked to review the suggested changes before the next Planning Commission meeting.

The commission took no formal vote on specific amendments to the Plan at the special meeting; instead the Chair and Clerk Jonathan Stevens were scheduled to meet with Martha Harrison to review update and adoption requirements and to identify next steps. The meeting minutes indicate that the list of suggested changes will be circulated to commissioners for review ahead of the next meeting.

Attendance at the special meeting included Commissioners Nicholas Baker, Jeffrey Beaulac, Joseph Fromberger (chair), Richard Ingersoll, George Moser, John Yake and Vice Chair Lenore Szuchman (participating by Zoom). No public comments were recorded during the session. The meeting was adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
