During a recent Dallas City Council meeting, a significant economic development initiative was discussed that could bring substantial job growth to the area. The council reviewed a Chapter 380 grant offer aimed at facilitating the relocation and expansion of HEICO Global, a North Carolina-based commercial aviation facility specializing in aviation engine repair and operations.

Heather Lopasko, assistant director for the Office of Economic Development, presented details about the company’s plans. HEICO Global currently operates a facility in Carrollton but is seeking to expand due to insufficient space for a new product line. The company is considering relocating its operations to a nearly completed 290,000 square foot facility located at 11124 Goodnight Lane in District 6, Dallas.

The proposed move involves a significant investment of $17.5 million for tenant improvements and machinery. If the relocation proceeds, HEICO Global would bring 76 existing jobs from Carrollton and create an additional 98 new positions in Dallas, resulting in a total of 170 jobs for the local workforce.
