During a recent government meeting, officials discussed the city's comprehensive capital improvement plan, which outlines projects for the next five years. This plan includes various initiatives related to facilities, streets, and drainage improvements.

The report details the estimated budget and funding sources for these projects. Notably, the budget has been updated to reflect the current year, 2025. Among the immediate plans, the city will replace two ambulances and their onboard equipment, expected to arrive in a few months. Additionally, the design for drainage improvements at Dutch Branch Park will begin soon.

Next year, the city plans to replace a dump truck for public works and upgrade playground equipment at Castle Park and Robot Park. There are also plans to design parking lots and roads at Dutch Branch Park. In the following year, the city aims to replace seven outdoor warning sirens and the parks department office.

The streets section of the plan includes an annual street rehabilitation program, with contracts set for approval in January. The city has also completed drainage projects at Cedar Creek townhomes and Timberline. Future drainage projects will be determined after finishing a storm drain condition assessment this year.

Officials noted that the assessment has not revealed any immediate dangers, which is a positive outcome. However, some maintenance issues were identified. The staff recommended that the city council adopt the revised capital improvement program as presented, ensuring continued progress on these essential projects.
