During a recent government meeting, the board celebrated the achievements of educators and discussed community support initiatives. Dr. Bean highlighted a special education teacher who was honored as Teacher of the Year, emphasizing the dedication of staff in serving students. He proposed ways to uplift educators and invited board members to participate in the 24th annual \"Warming Hearts for the Holidays\" program. This initiative allows teachers and staff to nominate families in need for gifts and food during the holiday season. Dr. Bean mentioned that they plan to support over 30 students this year and expressed gratitude for the Kiwanis Club's donation of frozen turkeys to families.
The meeting also included discussions about scheduling changes. A board member requested to move the February 5th meeting to either February 3rd or 4th due to a work obligation. The board reached a consensus to consider this change at the next meeting.
In addition, updates were provided regarding a notice of violation issued to Unity, which remains unresolved despite an extension. The board will continue to address this issue in January.
Board members expressed their appreciation for each other and the collaborative efforts within the team. The meeting concluded with a report on closed session items, where invoices were approved unanimously. The next meeting is scheduled for January 8th.
