Chief Kimball mentioned that the department had conducted police recruitment several times in the past year but had not considered seeking more applicants for the single open position.

Regarding the sergeant role, it was noted that the department has a younger workforce, which limits the number of candidates who meet the minimum qualifications of three years of experience. The sergeant position may see a vacancy soon, depending on retirements and the return of a current sergeant.
