The city engineer presented details about the project, highlighting that it will involve upsizing a main sewer line from 15 inches to 18 inches. This upgrade is essential to support ongoing development in the area.

The project has secured $150,000 in funding from the Linn County American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Six bids were submitted for the project, with the lowest bid coming from Pierce Tobin at $300,944.15. This amount is approximately 76.7% of the engineer's estimate. The project is expected to reach substantial completion by May 30, 2025, and final completion by June 30, 2025. The timeline aligns with ARPA regulations, and any delays will incur liquidated damages of $500 per day.

The public hearing was opened for community input, inviting residents to share their thoughts on the sewer project.
