In a recent government meeting, various community initiatives and student achievements were highlighted, showcasing the active engagement of local schools and organizations in promoting positivity and support within the community.

The student government has taken the lead in organizing a Toys for Tots campaign, encouraging donations to spread holiday cheer. A successful \"Stuff a Bus\" event at Martin's Cobblestone saw significant community participation, reflecting the generosity of local residents. Additionally, the JROTC contributed by collecting nonperishable food items for a local church committee.

The meeting also celebrated the annual district chess tournament, which attracted 80 participants from multiple schools, including Elkhart High School and Westside. Gavin Ayers emerged as the overall champion, earning a trophy for his school.

A blood drive held at the field house was another highlight, with 124 donors contributing to the collection of 81 units of blood, potentially saving 243 lives. Beardsley Elementary hosted a Loteria Night, blending cultural education with family fun, while Pierre Moran Middle School received the Gold Star Award for its counseling program, and Tim Adams was named School Counselor of the Year.
