In a recent community meeting, local stakeholders unveiled an ambitious redevelopment project aimed at revitalizing downtown Plymouth. The initiative, spearheaded by the Gentine family, aims to transform two historic buildings into a boutique hotel, restaurant, and banquet facility, marking a significant investment in the area.

The project will feature a 35-room hotel, which is designed to serve both local residents and visitors, alongside a restaurant and bar. Additionally, the banquet facility is expected to accommodate up to 125 guests, addressing a growing demand for smaller event spaces in the region. Plans also include the potential addition of a spa and the city's first rooftop bar, offering scenic views of the Mullet River.

Louie Gentine, a family representative, emphasized the deep-rooted connection between the Gentine family and the Plymouth community, dating back to the establishment of the Gentine Funeral Home in the 1930s and the founding of Sargento in 1953. He highlighted the importance of community support in driving the project forward, noting that the initial vision has expanded significantly from simple renovations to creating a signature destination that could stimulate further investment in downtown Plymouth.
