During a recent government meeting, Gunnery Sergeant Bolton was officially welcomed to the team after a unanimous vote by board members. Bolton, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps with nearly 18 years of service, expressed his enthusiasm for working with students at Boyertown Area High School. He holds a bachelor's degree in clinical psychology and has experience volunteering with the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) program at Reading High School. Bolton emphasized his commitment to mentoring young adults and shaping them into productive citizens, highlighting his previous role at the Keystone State Challenge Academy, which focuses on at-risk youth.

The meeting also included a public comment period, where Dania Savage addressed the board regarding the upcoming reorganization meeting. She noted that this meeting would involve the selection of the board's president and vice president for the next calendar year. Savage pointed out the current dysfunction within the board, suggesting that relationships among members are strained and that discussions often devolve into bickering rather than productive dialogue. She urged board members to carefully consider the qualifications and understanding of the roles for those being nominated for leadership positions.
