During a recent Boyertown Area School District meeting, the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) at Boyertown Area Senior High School celebrated the dedication of a new Veterans Memorial. The ceremony, held in the freshman auditorium, featured performances by the school choir and a poignant reading of the names of 82 fallen veterans from the area. Acting Assistant Superintendent Scott Davidheiser expressed gratitude to the FBLA students and all involved in the project.

The meeting also highlighted various initiatives honoring veterans across the district, including an annual Wall of Honor and a new veteran salute at Earl Elementary. Communications Specialist Lisonbee Moyer and Director of the Office of Teaching and Learning Stephanie Landis introduced additional community events recognizing Veterans Day.

A standout moment of the evening was a senior presentation by Michael Gerhardt, a member of the NJROTC. Gerhardt shared his personal journey, detailing his achievements, community service, and aspirations, including plans to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. He emphasized the importance of service and leadership, reflecting on his experiences in the NJROTC program and his commitment to making a positive impact in the community.

The meeting underscored the district's dedication to honoring veterans and fostering leadership among students, showcasing the active role of youth in community service and remembrance.
