During a recent government meeting, local officials highlighted several upcoming community events aimed at promoting local businesses and celebrating the holiday season.

The farmers market, which offers a variety of gifts beyond food, is set to continue its operations as the winter season approaches. Residents are encouraged to explore the market every Wednesday, with special emphasis on supporting local artisans and vendors.

In a bid to boost local commerce, free parking in downtown areas will be available starting Sunday and will last for one week, coinciding with \"Shop Small Week.\" This initiative encourages citizens to shop at local businesses throughout the week, rather than just on the designated \"Shop Small Saturday.\"

Attention was also drawn to the Winter Lights Holiday Parade and Festival scheduled for Friday, December 6th. The event will kick off with a holiday market at 4 PM, followed by a visit from Santa at the Lyric Theatre at 5:45 PM. The traditional tree lighting ceremony will take place at 6 PM, with music provided by Tuba Christmas. Notably, the holiday parade will begin at 7:30 PM, a half-hour later than in previous years. In case of inclement weather, the parade will be rescheduled for December 7th.
