Residents of Middle Grove are expressing growing concerns over water quality following a recent notification from the local water department regarding elevated levels of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) detected at the East Grove well. During a community meeting, a resident highlighted that the water department reported PFAS levels exceeding drinking water standards, although officials reassured that the situation is not classified as an emergency.

The resident urged fellow community members to stay informed and share information, particularly with those who may not have received the official notice, such as apartment dwellers. Many residents have opted to purchase bottled water and avoid using tap water for cooking due to health concerns associated with PFAS, a man-made chemical linked to various health issues.

Further complicating the situation, it was revealed that the East Grove well, which supplies water to the area, has been under scrutiny due to high demand, particularly in the summer months.
