Dune McCollum, a senior from Akins Early College High School, earned recognition for ranking in the top three at the Percussive Arts Society International Conference in Annapolis, Indiana, competing against 20 participants nationwide. The Akins Percussion Ensemble also showcased their skills at this prestigious event, highlighting the district's commitment to arts education.

Naomi D Capua from McCallum High School was acknowledged for her leadership in the Mac journalism program, which was named a double national finalist by the National Scholastic Press Association for its social media platform.
