During a recent government meeting, concerns were raised regarding traffic management and safety in light of new developments in the area surrounding Eagle Road. A local business representative expressed satisfaction with a newly implemented right turn lane that has replaced a previously closed entrance. However, they highlighted significant worries about the increased traffic flow resulting from nearby construction projects, including a 130-unit Wyndham Hotel and approximately 340 apartments nearing completion.
The representative pointed out that the current 25-foot wide road, which serves as the main access point for both their business and the new developments, is inadequate for the anticipated volume of vehicles. They noted that the road's limited width and short length do not allow for sufficient stacking of vehicles, particularly for drive-thru services, which could lead to congestion and safety hazards.
With nearly 900 residential units expected to generate additional traffic, the representative urged local authorities to consider solutions to improve road capacity and safety. Suggestions included widening the road to accommodate a stacking lane for vehicles, ensuring that customers can access their business safely amidst the influx of new residents and traffic. The meeting underscored the need for proactive measures to address the challenges posed by rapid development in the area.
