During a recent government meeting, community members gathered to discuss upcoming fundraising efforts and recognize local youth entrepreneurship.

The meeting began with a presentation on a fundraiser aimed at supporting families affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases. The event, scheduled for October 5 from 9 AM to 3 PM at the intersection of Northside and the Boulevard, aims to build on last year's success, which raised over $24,000 in just six hours. Organizers expressed gratitude for past support and highlighted the efficiency of last year's event, which saw no traffic disruptions. Donations can also be made via a QR code that will be posted on the Nampa Fire Facebook page.

Following this, the spotlight turned to 11-year-old Nolan Lowry, who was introduced by Nampa City Councilman Victor Rodriguez. Nolan shared his entrepreneurial journey, which began at the age of seven when he started mowing lawns and offering yard work services in his neighborhood. With the help of his parents, he created flyers to promote his business and has since expanded his clientele. Nolan expressed his ambition to grow his business further and even consider forming an LLC in the future. His initiative was met with applause, showcasing the potential for young entrepreneurs in the community.

The meeting concluded with a sense of community spirit, emphasizing the importance of local support for both charitable causes and youth initiatives.
