During the recent government meeting, public comment was opened, providing an opportunity for community members to share updates and concerns. Terina Darcy took the podium to discuss the upcoming WinterFest event, scheduled for November 30th at the Camas Event Center from noon to 5 PM.
Darcy highlighted that WinterFest is one of two annual activities organized by Camas Action in collaboration with the council. The event will feature live music and performances, festive food and drink, although it will not include the usual monthly boutique, which is set for December 14th.
She noted that Mountain Land will provide the entertainment, while local civic clubs, including the Lions Club, will manage attractions such as Santa's Grotto and the Bubble House. Santa Claus is expected to arrive at 3 PM, escorted by the fire department, and will later participate in the tree lighting ceremony at Camas City Hall at 5:15 PM.
This year marks the introduction of a gingerbread house contest, sponsored by Grama Foodtown, encouraging participants to purchase and decorate gingerbread houses for a chance to win prizes for both kids and adults. Darcy emphasized the community spirit of the event, which has been a tradition for five years, and expressed hope for strong participation.
