The Marlborough Township Public School District held a poignant meeting recently, beginning with a moment of silence in memory of Mr. Julio Galicia, a dedicated mechanic in the Transportation Department who passed away on November 7, 2024. Mr. Galicia, who served the district for 11 years, was remembered for his extensive knowledge, unwavering commitment, and positive demeanor. He was known for his reliability, especially during inclement weather, ensuring that buses were ready for students. He leaves behind a wife and two children, and the district expressed deep condolences to his family and all affected by his loss.
Following the tribute, the meeting transitioned to recognizing outstanding staff members with respect certificates. Mr. Malone highlighted the importance of acknowledging staff who go above and beyond in their duties. Two staff members were honored: Theodore Hall from the Buildings and Grounds Department, recognized for exceptional service, and Ryan Collins, a coach and physical education teacher at Marlborough Bridal School, who received commendation from an external source. The district emphasized the value of community feedback in recognizing the hard work of its staff, fostering a culture of appreciation within the school community.
