During a recent government meeting, heartfelt tributes were paid to two esteemed educators from the Marlborough Township Public Schools as they prepare for retirement.
Mrs. Laura Blake, who has dedicated 46 years to music education, was celebrated for her impactful contributions as a band director and vocal music teacher. Colleagues highlighted her ability to connect with students across all age groups, from preschool to college, and her unique approach to infusing the school’s core values into her music lessons. Known for her extensive hat collection, which she uses to bring joy to students during arrivals and dismissals, Blake's sense of humor and compassion have made her a beloved figure in the Asher community. As she embarks on her new journey, the community expressed excitement for her future adventures with family.
Yvonne Tina Delaglio, an instructional assistant with 25 years of service, was also honored for her dedication, particularly in the preschool program at the Abbott Early Learning Center. Delaglio's commitment to understanding and supporting her students' unique needs has made her an invaluable asset to the school. She expressed pride in witnessing her students' growth and learning, and in retirement, she plans to continue her education in autism-related therapy while pursuing personal interests such as tennis and yoga.
Both educators leave behind a legacy of dedication and passion, with the community wishing them happiness and fulfillment in their retirement.
