Country Parkway Elementary School celebrated its annual Fall Fest this year with an innovative approach, combining two events to enhance community engagement among students, families, and staff. The event, which has been a tradition since before 2007, saw a significant increase in participation, with ticket sales nearly doubling from the previous year.
The Fall Fest, organized by the school's Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), featured a variety of activities including crafts, a haunted house, and a trick-or-treating experience. This year, the PTA implemented a plan to hold two back-to-back sessions, allowing for greater attendance while maintaining the event's festive atmosphere. Last year, 211 tickets were sold, but this year, the school sold 419 tickets, enabling more families to create lasting memories.
The event also introduced a classroom competition where students decorated paper skeletons based on chosen themes, fostering creativity and camaraderie among classes. The winning class, led by first-grade teacher Mrs. Hopkins, was rewarded with an ice cream party, highlighting the spirit of friendly competition.
In addition to the traditional activities, a \"turkey wall\" was set up for students to express gratitude, further enriching the community experience. Organizers emphasized the importance of these events in building relationships and creating cherished memories for students, reinforcing the school's commitment to fostering a welcoming environment.
The success of this year's Fall Fest is attributed to the hard work of PTA volunteers and community members, with organizers expressing excitement for future events. The celebration not only provided a fun evening for families but also strengthened the bonds within the Country Parkway community, making it a memorable occasion for all involved.
