The Laconia School Board convened on November 8, 2024, for its first meeting of the new term, marked by the swearing-in of three new board members: Jennifer Anderson, Nancy Simoneau, and Zachary Day. City Clerk Katie Gardano officiated the oath of office, emphasizing the importance of their roles in serving the community.

Following the introductions, the board proceeded to elect its officers for the year. Board member Nick Grennan was nominated and subsequently elected as the new chair with a vote of 6 to 1. Jennifer Anderson was elected as vice chair, receiving unanimous support from the board members present. Assistant Superintendent Hines was also reappointed as the board clerk.

In a notable development, the board chair announced the formation of a new Superintendent Search Committee, aimed at preparing for the upcoming 2025-2026 superintendent selection process. This addition brings the total number of standing committees to five, including facilities, budget and personnel, policy, and strategic planning.
