The Liberty Lake government meeting highlighted several upcoming community events and initiatives aimed at fostering local engagement and enhancing public spaces.

The Winter Glow Spectacular is set to kick off on November 23rd at Orchard Park, starting at 5 PM. Organizers are actively seeking volunteers to assist with the setup, encouraging interested individuals to check social media for contact information.

In addition, a new event sponsored by the Liberty Lake Better Together Foundation will feature a tree lighting ceremony on December 1st at 5 PM, located in the trailhead parking lot. This event aims to celebrate the installation of a new 14-foot steel tree, which will be prominently visible above the reader board. The event will also include a choir performance from the local high school, reminiscent of past community traditions.

Residents are reminded that the leaf and beech collection program is ongoing until December 2nd. This initiative allows community members to bag fallen leaves and bring them to the Liberty Lake Soar and Water District for mulching.

During the meeting, a report on donations for the third quarter was presented, revealing contributions including two pickleball nets valued at $2,000 from the Liberty Lake Pickleball Group for use at Orchard Park, and a memorial bench donated by Joni Buck. Additionally, two anonymous donations were made for coffee and donuts, highlighting community support for local events.
