One speaker emphasized the lack of locker space for female athletes, attributing the issue to insufficient facilities within the main building. A proposed solution involves completing an unfinished shelf in the Thomas Edison building, which could provide much-needed storage for personal items. Additionally, Fitz highlighted the cramped conditions of the health room, which lacks proper isolation for contagious students and adequate handwashing facilities. She also pointed out the need for updated locks at Ridgeview Middle School to streamline access for staff and enhance security. At Rachel Carson Elementary School, she noted the dangers of pedestrian walkways that require students to cross busy parking areas, along with the necessity for security cameras to monitor high-traffic entrances.

The meeting underscored a collective call for immediate action to address these pressing issues, with community members advocating for timely improvements to ensure safe and supportive learning environments for all students.
