During a recent government meeting, Nicole Stellick, the Recreation Director for South Suburban, provided an update on the ongoing community engagement efforts related to Hudson Gardens. The project is currently in its second and third phases, focusing on community input and a needs assessment, with plans to transition into a visioning stage in the new year.
Stellick outlined the comprehensive approach being taken to gather feedback from various user groups of Hudson Gardens, including local residents, program participants, and event attendees. The engagement process has included open-ended discussions to understand community preferences and desires for improvements at the site. This feedback will inform a series of surveys and focus groups aimed at refining the input received.
To date, outreach efforts have included digital communications, pop-up engagement events at local venues, and partnerships with local businesses to distribute marketing materials. The initiative has successfully reached a broad audience, with nearly 60,000 email addresses in the Hudson Gardens database and active participation in community events.
Stellick emphasized the importance of inclusivity in the engagement process, ensuring that diverse perspectives are represented. The feedback collected will culminate in an engagement summary report, which will guide the development of future plans for Hudson Gardens.
As the project progresses, stakeholders, including the City of Littleton, will be consulted to ensure that their insights are integrated into the planning process. The meeting concluded with an invitation for further questions and discussions about the ongoing engagement efforts.
