During a recent government meeting, the Burbank Parks and Recreation Department celebrated the success of its annual Haunted Adventure event, which has become a cherished community tradition since its inception in 1997. Recreation Coordinator Christina Lara presented a detailed overview of this year’s event, themed \"Laboratory of Lost Souls,\" which attracted 700 participants over four nights. The event featured a haunted maze filled with eerie scenes and unexpected frights, showcasing the creativity and teamwork of the Stowe Canyon Nature Center team and numerous volunteers.
Lara emphasized the vital contributions of over 40 volunteers who collectively dedicated more than 900 hours to ensure the event's success. She acknowledged local businesses that supported the event, including Volt Lights Incorporated, which provided professional lighting, and Raising Canes, which donated meals for staff and volunteers. The collaborative effort was praised for creating an unforgettable experience for attendees.
The meeting also included public comments, with Eric Hawk, president of the Burbank Community Band, expressing gratitude for the board's support. He highlighted the band's recent performances, including a Halloween concert and a Veterans Day ceremony, and invited the community to their upcoming holiday show on December 21st.
The meeting concluded with a call for community involvement, as the Parks and Recreation Department continues to seek talented individuals to join their team, underscoring the importance of community engagement in local events and initiatives.
