In a heartfelt recognition ceremony, the Cary Village government honored three individuals from 3 Oaks Elementary for their heroic actions during a medical emergency that occurred on October 21, 2024. An individual from the community suffered a medical emergency and subsequently crashed their vehicle in the school parking lot.
Thanks to the swift response of Assistant Principal Kyle Block, School Nurse Angela Klinge, and Assistant Principal Rosie Conde, life-saving measures were promptly administered, including CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Their quick thinking and dedication were pivotal in ensuring the individual survived and is now recovering.
During the meeting, Mayor Connick, along with Chief Finland and Chief Dela Tor, presented certificates of recognition to the trio, commending their compassion and commitment to the well-being of others. The mayor emphasized that their actions not only saved a life but also served as a powerful example for students about the importance of helping one another in the community.
In a special acknowledgment, all three were named Employees of the Month for October, highlighting their exceptional contributions to the school and the community. The ceremony underscored the vital role that educators and staff play in ensuring safety and support within their environments.
