During a recent government meeting, community concerns regarding a proposed housing development on Evans Road were prominently discussed. Local resident Mike Woods, who has owned property in the area since 1966, voiced his apprehensions about the impact of increased traffic from the potential construction of 25 new homes.
Woods highlighted that the entrance to his property is situated directly across from the proposed development site, raising concerns about safety and traffic flow on Evans Road, which currently has a speed limit of 45 miles per hour. He noted that the road is already prone to speeding and expressed worries that the addition of new homes would exacerbate these issues, particularly at the crest of a hill where visibility is limited.
The meeting also touched on the concept plan presented by Swan County, which initially indicated eight lots for the development. However, officials clarified that this number is not a strict limit, suggesting that the final number of lots could be higher. This revelation added to the community's concerns about the scale of the project and its implications for local infrastructure.
As discussions continue, residents are eager for assurances that their safety and the character of the area will be prioritized in any future development plans.
