Representatives from Bike Temecula Valley (BTV) highlighted their successful \"Ride the Vines\" charity cycling event, which attracted nearly 200 riders and raised over $7,000 for local nonprofits, with Mission Hope being the primary beneficiary. The event featured 24 supporting nonprofits and engaged around 300 volunteers, including local youth. BTV also reported on their ongoing safety initiatives, including the distribution of 500 helmets to local first responders for children in need and collaboration with local schools to promote bike safety.

Jennifer Evans, program manager at Michelle's Place Cancer Resource Center, expressed gratitude for the city's support of their 8th annual Walk of Hope, which drew over 1,500 participants. She also thanked the council for considering a grant to assist families undergoing cancer treatment, providing them with essential resources during difficult times.

Robert Sweeney, president of the Rotary Club of Temecula, thanked the council for their support of the club's holiday program aimed at providing food baskets to families in need during the holiday season.

Council members also shared updates on upcoming community events. A new skate park at Long Canyon Creek Park will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 16, and the city will celebrate Poweska Mountain Day on November 15, commemorating the local fight against a gravel quarry. Additionally, the Christmas tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for December 7, followed by the electric parade in Old Town.

In a heartfelt moment, council member Mr. Schwenk urged the community to support a local family facing a medical crisis. The York family is seeking potential blood stem cell donors for their son, Sam, who has been diagnosed with leukemia. The council encouraged residents to consider joining the donor registry to help save lives.
