As the fall sports season draws to a close, local high school teams are celebrating notable achievements and gearing up for winter sports. The high school football team remains undefeated and is set to face EO Smith at home this Friday, a highly anticipated matchup for fans and players alike.
In boys' soccer, the team recently competed in a semifinal game, securing a 5-2 victory. Board members were present to support the athletes, highlighting the community's engagement with school events. The girls' soccer team also made strides, reaching the quarterfinals in their competition.
Recognition was given to four student-athletes who were named CCC North all-conference finalists: Caitlin Gallonado, Keegan Autorucci, Julian Bouchard, and Ariadine Stegarcus, along with Ava Dos Santos. These students have excelled not only in their sports but also in academics, maintaining high GPAs to participate.
Looking ahead, winter sports such as boys and girls basketball, wrestling, and indoor track are on the horizon, promising an exciting season for athletes and supporters.
Special acknowledgments were made during the meeting, including football coach John Aquavita, who was named Giants Coach of the Week, and football player Zachary Gerolamo, recognized as Defensive Player of the Week for the week of November 3rd. Additionally, swimmers Shanda Gray and Miranda Parker qualified for the swim finals, with Gray finishing in third place and Parker in fourth.
