Bill Burke, a resident of Quinceorgi Park, highlighted the dangers at the intersection of Great Seneca Highway, emphasizing the long distances pedestrians must cross and the risky behavior of drivers who bypass stopped vehicles. He proposed implementing dedicated pedestrian crossing times to enhance safety.

Burke also noted the increasing traffic congestion in the Kentlands area, particularly during busy events, which raises concerns for families and children. He urged local authorities to consider immediate measures to address these pressing safety issues.

Former city council member Dolly Kildee raised a different but related concern regarding the integration of bicyclists and pedestrians. She criticized the trend of moving cyclists off the streets and onto sidewalks, particularly in the vicinity of schools, where young children are present. Kildee urged the city to reconsider plans that would allow bicycles to share space with elementary school students, citing potential safety hazards.

Glenn Fortner, another resident, echoed Burke's concerns about the dangerous intersection at Keller's Boulevard and Great Smoker Highway, reinforcing the community's call for urgent action to improve safety measures.
