Both women were celebrated for their dedication and contributions to the school division, with Norman serving for 25 years and Mirador for 16 years. Norman was remembered for her roles as a library media assistant and administrative secretary, while Mirador was recognized for her work in various capacities, including as a human resources assistant. The meeting also highlighted the achievements of board members, with several receiving awards from the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA). Rodney Jordan, Tanya Bessin, and Tiffany Buffalo were honored with awards of distinction, while Carlos Clanton received an award of honor, and Superintendent Dr. Sharon Birdsong was recognized for her contributions.
