In a recent government meeting, the Fitchburg Common Council approved several key resolutions impacting local infrastructure and development projects.
The council unanimously passed Resolution R-17024, which authorizes the purchase of a new 2025 streets tractor. The decision included provisions for additional lighting to ensure safety and compliance with street regulations. The tractor will be delivered from Midstate, located in Janesville, as it cannot be driven down the interstate.
Next, the council addressed Resolution R-18324, amending the 2024 budget for the Syene Road project. The amendment reallocates $65,000 from the capital projects fund to the TID (Tax Increment District) budget, allowing for a larger portion of the roadway costs to be covered by TID funds. This adjustment was deemed necessary as the city engineer identified that the TID had sufficient capacity to absorb these additional costs, which include both construction improvements and engineering inspection services.
The council also approved Resolution R-18524, which pertains to subdivision improvements for the No Oaks Ranch LLC certified survey map. This agreement, which requires final review by the city attorney and engineer, outlines assessments for public improvements such as roads, sidewalks, and lighting that were constructed in previous years. The area is expected to be developed into a 110-unit multifamily housing project.
These resolutions reflect the council's ongoing commitment to enhancing local infrastructure and supporting community development initiatives.
