Antonio Ochoa received a community service award for his actions on September 26, 2024, while supervising a corrections work crew. When an inmate began to act erratically, Ochoa maintained vigilance over two other inmates while simultaneously calling 911. His prompt response ensured the safety of those in his care until public safety officials arrived to handle the situation.

Similarly, Aron Hernandez was recognized for his courageous efforts on the same day. When he noticed an inmate walking towards oncoming traffic, Hernandez attempted to engage the individual to prevent a potential disaster. Despite the inmate's unpredictable behavior, Hernandez remained focused on ensuring the safety of the community, particularly nearby schoolchildren, until law enforcement arrived.

Felipe Garcia, a bus driver for the Gadsden Elementary School District, was also awarded for his quick actions on October 9, 2024, when his bus caught fire while transporting 32 students. Garcia successfully pulled the bus over and directed the students to safety, using a fire extinguisher to mitigate the situation. His decisive actions prevented any injuries or property damage.
