The Mayor urged residents to vote in favor of these levies, recognizing the dedication of the fire department personnel in ensuring community safety.
Council member Mrs. Cochran announced the schedule for upcoming council meetings, set for November 4th and November 18th, both starting at 6 PM. Additionally, she mentioned a workshop on October 29th and November 12th, also at 6 PM.
In response to inquiries about promotional materials for the fire levy, it was confirmed that signs are available for residents to pick up at the fire department. The discussion also touched on the availability of signs for a school levy.
The meeting included reminders about community engagement opportunities, such as watching past council meetings on Spectrum cable channel 1023 and online platforms. The council also announced a Christmas holiday event scheduled for November 30th at Lake Mary United Methodist Church, replacing the traditional tree lighting ceremony.
Lastly, it was noted that a quarter auction will take place this Friday to raise funds for a gazebo on the Lakemore side of the lake, with doors opening at 6 PM and the auction starting at 7 PM. This event aims to foster community spirit and support local initiatives.
