In a recent government meeting, Groundwork Lawrence received approval for a one-day wine and malt license for its upcoming GLOW Gala, scheduled for November 21st. The event, marking the organization's 25th anniversary, will take place at 15 Union Street from 6 PM to 10 PM.

Jorge Hernandez, representing Groundwork Lawrence, presented the application, emphasizing that the gala serves as a fundraiser for the organization. During the discussion, Commissioner Laird inquired about the necessary insurance policy, to which Hernandez confirmed that arrangements were being made.

The event will be hosted on the sixth floor of the venue, which is utilized by the Youth Development Organization (YDL). Following a brief discussion, the motion to approve the license was made by Commissioner Morales and seconded by Commissioner Lea. The motion passed unanimously, allowing Groundwork Lawrence to proceed with its plans for the gala.
