New developments set to transform Villa Park landscape

In a recent government meeting, officials outlined several key development projects slated for Villa Park, with construction expected to begin as early as next year. Among the highlighted initiatives are the EcoTear and Garden Station projects, both set to commence in 2025, along with a 16-lot subdivision that will introduce new single-family homes to the area.

The subdivision, which will extend Princeton Avenue, is anticipated to yield 16 new homes, with construction phased over the next few years. Officials noted that the pace of homebuilding could see one to one-and-a-half homes completed annually, contributing to gradual growth in the neighborhood.

Additionally, the Rose Paving company is expected to establish operations at 600 North Villa next year, potentially becoming the largest employer in the area, surpassing the current largest employer, District 88. This development is seen as a significant boost to local employment.

The status of the EcoTear project was also discussed, with officials confirming that financing information has been received and is currently under review. Although the project has exceeded its initial 90-day timeline without breaking ground, further analysis is underway to assess the submitted financing proof.
