The proclamation emphasized the progress made in reducing polio cases by 99.9% since Rotary International's first vaccination project in 1979. The mayor urged residents to appreciate their polio-free status and support ongoing eradication efforts, as the disease still exists in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The meeting also featured a presentation from the Skokie 4th of July Parade Committee, led by Rich Ivanitz. He acknowledged the hard work of volunteers who contributed to the success of the 2024 parade, which included over 1,400 participants from 79 units.
