In a recent meeting regarding an upcoming pop-up event at 105 Wooster Street in SoHo, organizers discussed their plans to manage the expected influx of attendees. The event, which is associated with a celebrity but will not feature the star in attendance, is anticipated to draw between 1,500 to 2,000 people daily over its five-day duration, following a three-day setup and two-day breakdown.
To address potential crowd control issues, the organizers have secured ten brand ambassadors and four security guards. These personnel will be strategically positioned to manage the line and ensure that it does not obstruct neighboring businesses or residences. Additionally, they plan to provide trash bags along the line to maintain cleanliness.
The event will be promoted primarily through social media channels, particularly Billie Eilish's Instagram, alongside a partnership with American Express. However, organizers acknowledged the challenge of managing public expectations, noting that fans often do not believe announcements regarding the absence of the celebrity.
Concerns were raised during the meeting about the growing trend of celebrity-related pop-ups, which have increasingly disrupted local areas by creating long lines that can span multiple blocks. The organizers expressed their awareness of these issues and their commitment to implementing effective line management strategies to mitigate the impact on the community.
