During a recent government meeting, District 196 officials celebrated the contributions of educators and support staff, highlighting the importance of various appreciation weeks. Chair Johnson opened the session by honoring Carla for her exceptional work in education, acknowledging her supporters in attendance.
Superintendent Bolsoni took the floor to recognize the district's principals and assistant principals, noting that this week is dedicated to their appreciation. He invited those present to stand and be acknowledged for their vital roles in their school communities.
The meeting also included plans to approve a resolution designating the upcoming week as Nutrition Services Employees Appreciation Week. Bolsoni emphasized the significant impact of the district's nutrition services team, which comprises approximately 175 employees who serve around 2.5 million nutritious meals annually across 31 locations.
Additionally, the board will consider a resolution to declare October 14th to 19th as Transportation Employees Appreciation Week. Bolsoni highlighted the efforts of the district's 305 transportation employees, who manage the largest district-owned fleet in the state, covering nearly 2.9 million miles each year.
These recognitions underscore the district's commitment to valuing the hard work of its staff and ensuring that students are well-supported in their educational journeys.
