During a recent meeting, Syosset High School celebrated the academic achievements of its students by recognizing 21 semifinalists for the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Competition. Assistant Principal Chris Buffini presented certificates to the students, who were selected based on their outstanding PSAT scores, placing them among only 16,000 semifinalists nationwide.
Buffini expressed pride in the students' accomplishments, emphasizing that their recognition reflects their hard work, dedication, and academic excellence. The students honored during the ceremony included Derek Chen, Frank He, Marcus Oshino, Shan Hsieh, Connor Jin, Katherine Lee, Simone Lim, Jasmine Liu, Yuyang Liu, Sunai Malhotra, Rahil Nabi, Lance Fung, Michael Wen, Corey Shaq, Krashiv Shah, Jaisuke Singh, Samuel Wang, Xiaotang Wang, Joanne Wu, Katherine Yi, and Winston Zhu.
