Residents of Muscat Run express concerns over proposed water wall development plan
During a recent government meeting, residents of Muscat Run voiced their concerns regarding the proposed water wall development plan that directly impacts their community. Sharon and her husband, who reside at 101 Muscat Run, highlighted the significant issues surrounding the development, particularly in the RD3 area adjacent to their properties.
The couple emphasized the importance of conducting a thorough traffic impact analysis, which should encompass not only Jerr Shoals Road but also Salem Church Road and Muscat Run. They underscored that this analysis is a crucial step before any land clearing or construction begins.
To mitigate potential disruptions, the residents proposed a modification to the development layout. They suggested that the primary access point to the RD3 section be relocated to the Envision entrance from Dreher Shoals Road, closest to Salem United Methodist Church. This adjustment aims to eliminate the need for entrances from Salem Church or Muscat Run, thereby addressing concerns related to traffic congestion, potential damage to utility infrastructure, construction access, and privacy disturbances.
The residents' recommendations reflect a proactive approach to ensuring that community interests are considered in the planning process as discussions around the development continue.
