Born in 1922 in Koval, Poland, Alexander recounted his survival through 11 concentration camps, including Auschwitz, emphasizing the resilience of the human spirit during one of history's darkest periods. His visit served as a powerful reminder of the importance of remembering historical tragedies to prevent their recurrence.

The assembly captivated the audience, with students fully engaged and taking notes to preserve every word of Alexander's testimony. Following the event, many students expressed their eagerness to learn more about his life, showcasing the profound impact of his story on the younger generation.

In addition to Alexander's visit, student board member Miranda highlighted recent events in the district, including homecoming celebrations, a college fair, and activities for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. She also announced the upcoming Red Ribbon Week, aimed at promoting drug awareness and prevention among students.

Miranda emphasized the importance of voter registration, encouraging peers to engage in the electoral process ahead of California's registration deadline on October 21. She plans to connect with middle school students to ensure their voices are heard and represented, and she has already initiated outreach to school principals for future visits.

The meeting concluded with a call for public comments, with 23 speakers lined up to address the board, reflecting the community's active engagement in district matters.
