In a recent government meeting, cheerleaders from East and West Middle Schools were celebrated for their remarkable achievement of earning All American status at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Cheer Camp held in Murfreesboro. This prestigious recognition grants these talented athletes the opportunity to perform in the Thanksgiving Day Parade at Disney World, a significant honor for the young cheerleaders.
The East Middle School cheerleaders recognized for their accomplishments include Bailey Albert, Macy LaPorte, Harper Hill, and Lydia Gilliam. They were joined by their counterparts from West Middle School, who also had four cheerleaders—Cambry Hammock, Mary Margaret Hatfield, Paisley Northcutt, and Amaya Hayworth—receive the same accolade.
The meeting featured a moment of applause for the cheerleaders, highlighting the pride the community feels for their hard work and dedication. Originally scheduled to leave for a football game, the cheerleaders were able to stay longer due to a change in weather, allowing for a celebratory photo opportunity with family and friends.
The event concluded with a transition to an academic update from Dr. Christina Boone, marking a shift in focus from the celebration of athletic achievement to educational matters. The recognition of the cheerleaders not only showcases their talents but also emphasizes the community's support for youth engagement in extracurricular activities.
