During the Grand County Commission meeting held on October 15th, officials reported a significant uptick in construction activity within the county. Building Inspector Bill Hulse presented the department's findings, revealing that 331 building permits have been issued so far this year, a notable increase from 269 permits issued in all of 2023. Hulse emphasized that the construction momentum shows no signs of slowing, with several large projects anticipated to begin soon.
In addition to the rise in permits, the building department has conducted over 1,000 inspections, reflecting the busy nature of the construction landscape. The department has also collected more than $644,000 in fees to date, surpassing the total of $607,000 collected in the previous year.
The meeting, which commenced early to accommodate three department reports, highlighted the ongoing growth and development within Grand County, signaling a robust construction sector that is poised for further expansion.
