In a recent government meeting, plans for a new indoor golf course and practice facility were unveiled, proposing the annexation of 100 acres in Oswego. The project, spearheaded by Megaladome, aims to create a state-of-the-art facility featuring four large domes, each measuring 300 by 900 feet, which will house a nine-hole executive golf course and a comprehensive practice area.
The proposed facility will include approximately 680 parking spaces, although the final number will be determined in collaboration with village staff. The design incorporates full access from Route 30 and RANSS, ensuring convenient entry points for visitors. The project also anticipates future commercial expansion, with designated areas for compatible uses such as hotels and restaurants.

Subscribe for Free The domes are engineered to provide optimal playing conditions year-round, utilizing advanced climate control and simulation technology to enhance the golfing experience. The course design, inspired by Arizona's renowned golf courses, aims to offer a unique escapism for golfers, with a projected playtime of around 90 minutes for nine holes, significantly shorter than traditional outdoor courses.
Safety features are a priority, with strategic tee box placements and netting to prevent accidents. The facility will also include 24-hour security and video surveillance. The practice dome will offer 50 driving bays, allowing golfers to observe their ball flight and improve their skills in a controlled environment.
The clubhouse, initially designed as an 8,000 square foot structure, may expand to three stories based on community feedback, providing additional event space to meet local needs. The facility is expected to attract approximately 290,000 visitors annually, creating around 20 on-site jobs.
Megaladome's initiative aims to level the playing field for local high school and college golf programs, enabling athletes to train year-round and compete more effectively against schools in warmer climates. The project is positioned as a significant enhancement to the community, promising to foster collaboration with local educational institutions and provide a premier golfing experience.
