The meeting opened with announcements of upcoming events, including a fall choir concert scheduled for October 10th at 7 PM in the Iron Auditorium, featuring performances from three choirs and a guest choir from Bethel. Additionally, the student council is organizing a fall food drive, known as the trigger canning event, where members will collect non-perishable food donations door-to-door. Chippewa Middle School has been recognized as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, marking it as the third school in the district to receive this honor. Irondale and Mountain View High Schools were also commended for being named to the College Board's 2024 AP Honor Roll, acknowledging their efforts in expanding access to Advanced Placement courses.
Furthermore, the Mounds View School District Orchestra Grama received the 2024 Meritorious Orchestra Program Award from the Minnesota String and Orchestra Teachers Association, recognizing the program's excellence and its positive impact on students and the broader string community in Minnesota.
