A proposed self-service laundromat, Laundra Lab, is seeking a specific use permit for its first location in Grand Prairie, Texas, at 401 East Pioneer Parkway, adjacent to an existing Kroger store. The facility plans to occupy approximately 3,850 square feet and will feature between 30 to 40 washers and dryers, along with vending machines offering detergent, snacks, and beverages. The design includes a lobby area with seating, a children's reading nook, and multiple surveillance cameras for security.
During a recent government meeting, the Development Review Committee (DRC) recommended approval of the permit, highlighting the laundromat's modern amenities and family-friendly environment. The business aims to operate daily from 7 AM to 10 PM, with at least one employee on-site at all times, increasing to two or three during peak hours.
